Association Between Adaptive Servo-Ventilation Therapy and Renal Function

چکیده
Cardio-renal syndrome is a challenging clinical entity to manage, and often associated with increased morbidity mortality. We hypothesized that adaptive servo-ventilation (ASV), non-invasive positive pressure ventilation ameliorates systemic/pulmonary congestion, may improve renal function in patients symptomatic heart failure complicated by the cardio-renal syndrome. Patients congestive who underwent ASV therapy for over 1 month were included this retrospective study. The trajectory of estimated glomerular filtration ratio (eGFR) between pre-1 period post-one-month (on ASV) compared. A total 81 (median 65 years old, men) included. eGFR decreased during from 52.7 (41.7, 64.6) down 49.9 (37.3, 63.5) mL/minute/1.73 m2 (P < 0.001) whereas we observed an increase following one-month up 53.4 (38.6, 68.6) = 0.022). reduction furosemide equivalent dose initiation was independently increases adjusted odds 13.72 (95% confidence interval 3.40-55.3, P 0.001). In conclusion, short-term preservation function, particularly when loop diuretics concomitantly reduced.

Sleep-related Breathing Disorders Adaptive Servo-Ventilation
Adaptive servo-ventilation (ASV) is a form of non-invasive positive airway pressure (PAP) therapy that differs from other PAP devices. It includes features to overcome both obstructive and central sleep-disordered breathing (SDB) events. متن کاملAdaptive servo-ventilation and deadspace: effects on central sleep apnoea.
Central Sleep Apnoea (CSA) occurs commonly in heart failure. Adaptive servo-ventilation (ASV) and deadspace (DS) have been shown in research settings to reverse CSA. The likely mechanism for this is the increase of PaCO(2) above the apnoeic threshold. However the role of increasing FiCO(2) on arousability remains unclear. To compare the effects of ASV and DS on sleep and breathing, in particula...
متن کاملAdaptive servo-ventilation in patients with idiopathic Cheyne-Stokes breathing.
BACKGROUND Cheyne Stokes Breathing (CSB), a form of central sleep apnea is often found in medical illnesses such as heart failure, stroke or renal failure. Adaptive servo-ventilation (ASV) has been reported to be an effective treatment of CSB in heart failure. However, there are no reports about using ASV for idiopathic CSB, which is not associated with heart failure or other serious medical pr...

BACKGROUND Sleep apnea is common in hospitalized heart failure (HF) patients and is associated with increased morbidity and mortality. OBJECTIVES The CAT-HF (Cardiovascular Improvements With MV-ASV Therapy in Heart Failure) trial investigated whether minute ventilation (MV) adaptive servo-ventilation (ASV) improved cardiovascular outcomes in hospitalized HF patients with moderate-to-severe sl...
